Plans and billing

Relay starts as a useful local tool. Future paid tiers add convenience, collaboration, hosted projections, and specialist support—not access to your own data.

Current status

No paid plans are currently being charged.

This page describes the intended product model while Relay remains in local-first development. There is no checkout, automatic trial conversion, or subscription requirement.

Planned tiers

Choose convenience, not lock-in.

Free · local

Local Relay

A generous local-first reference path for people who need Relay without a recurring bill.

  • Windows desktop app and standalone CLI
  • Isolated workspaces and local transcript library
  • Normalization, categorization, review, and basic Overseer comparison
  • Local backup and export tools
  • 8 MB per-file default ingestion boundary
Available as the reference path
Planned · individual

More automation for people with larger archives or more frequent review work.

  • Automatic large-file chunking and reconstruction
  • Richer search, indexing, and archive controls
  • Encrypted backup conveniences
  • Additional local adapters and workflow tools

Team / Professional

Shared, governed workspaces for teams that need review queues and traceable hand-offs.

  • Named users, groups, and scoped workspaces
  • Approval queues, delegation, and escalation
  • Notion, Slack, Jira, and GitHub projections
  • Audit exports and policy profiles
  • Team administration and support
Planned · private by default
Planned · high assurance

Enterprise

For organisations with stronger identity, retention, security, and deployment requirements.

  • Private deployment and directory integration
  • Trusted devices, step-up authentication, and quarantine
  • Multi-person approval and authority controls
  • Retention, migration, and recovery support
  • Dedicated security and implementation review
Planned · separate service gate
Custom integration

Have a specialised workflow?

Government audit, insurance review, education moderation, regulated operations, scientific review, and other high-assurance use cases may need a private deployment or a purpose-built adapter.

We can scope the requirements, threat model, integration boundary, acceptance tests, deployment, and support as a separate implementation contract. Relay does not currently claim certification for these sectors.

Billing principles

No predatory surprises.

  • No card required for the local path
  • No misleading free trial that silently becomes paid
  • Clear limits before signup and usage alerts before charges
  • Simple cancellation, export, and deletion
  • No selling or training on private archive contents
  • Hosted features remain optional; the local archive remains yours
